The Civil War Soldier Volunteers from Foote, Iowa
Foote / Hinkletown / Greene Valley Civil War Enlistments
(Fillmore and Greene Townships, Iowa County, Iowa)
Over three dozen men from the Hinkletown area volunteered to support the Union cause during the Civil War.
About a dozen and a half from Foote (Fillmore and Greene townships) in Iowa County went to Iowa City and signed up together to join the 22nd Iowa Infantry Volunteers on August 18, 1862.
