Thomas Fletcher Hudson was born September 30, 1844 in Indiana, the son of Thomas and Parlina Elizabeth Hensley Hudson. He married Henrietta Disor on April 24, 1866 in Keokuk County, Iowa. They had three sons, Jesse, Charles and James, and a daughter Lucy. The Hudsons lived in and around Hinkletown for many years, and were at one time involved in the brickmaking at the townsite. James Hudson was a member of the famous Union Horse Company, also known as the "vigilantes" that kept peace in the area beginning in 1869. James was inducted as one of the final group of members in 1890.
