McCormick Deering No. 7

Photo of the Month - May 2002

Now buried into a hillside, this McCormick Deering No. 7 mower was used a century ago as a "horse-drawn" sickle mower to cut hay. The sickle blades were made in 5' and 6' lengths. Other implements were soon manufactured to help with the loading and processing of loose hay and other grasses into wagons, and then into bales.
